Fractional skin lifting – Wrinkle reduction, skin tightening, correction of scars and other skin irregularities, with less pain and twice the recovery time than previous treatments, is offered by the first fractionated system based on bipolar radiofrequency current, eMatrix.
eMatrix is small in size, powerful in effect, a device that works on the principle of bipolar radio frequency currents (RF) that transmit energy to the skin in a controlled manner, through as many as 64 diodes. In the skin, the energy of the RF current is converted into heat, heating the tissue and creating 64 microdamages on an area only slightly larger than a square centimeter. The skin reacts to the injury by regeneration, creating new collagen, thus becoming tighter and more elastic. This “spot” injury leaves the surrounding tissue undamaged, which further accelerates the regeneration process.
The eMatrix RF fractional system combines capabilities for which it would otherwise be necessary to use several types of lasers: Er.Yag, Nd.Yag, CO2, Er.Glass. When the fractionated laser beam penetrates the tissue, it creates small damages in the deeper layers of the dermis, and much larger damages on the surface of the skin, damaging the epidermis by up to 70%. The treatment is painful and contraindicated for people with a darker skin type, because hyperpigmentation often occurs. Bipolar RF current flow of eMatrix produces the opposite effect: less damage on the surface (up to 5% damage to the epidermis) with more effective action in the deeper layers.
